    GOO DELUXE AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 12, 2005

    The Deluxe Edition of Sonic Youth's 1990 album 'Goo' is set for release on September 12, 2005.

    UPCOMING SOLO ACTION

    Chris Lee + the Mystery Singers (Steve Shelley on drums, Tim Luntzel on bass) perform at the Living Room in NYC July 28 for a midnight set. Earlier the same night, Thurston performs with College Girls Gone Wild in Easthampton, MA at the Apollo Grill. Thurston and Jim will both join White Out at Tonic in New York on July 30. Thurston will also perform with Double Leopards and Mouthus at the Hook in NYC on August 3. When SY plays at the Oya Festival in Olso in August, solo sets will also go down. Lee plays solo on Aug. 11, Thurston and Jim perform with Mats Gustafsson as the Diskaholics Anonymous trio on Aug. 12. Text of Light (including Lee Ranaldo) performs September 17 in St. Louis at the Moore Auditorium at Webster University. A trio of TOL players: Lee, Alan Licht, and Tim Barnes, will perform at the 2nd annual Filmakers Co-op Benefit September 27 at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in NYC.

    FOUR NEW SY SONGS DEBUTED AT THE FLYWHEEL

    Thurston, Kim and Steve made an impromptu appearance at the Flywheel in Easthampton, MA on July 18 performing 4 new songs Sonic Youth have been working on in rehearsals. The songs were 'Helen Lundeberg', 'Or','Do You Believe in Rapture' and "Pink Steam'. Also appearing that night were Afri Rampo and Lightning Bolt.

    Oh man!!! Die muss ich haben... Dafür, dass sie sonst immer recht lange am Songwriting saßen, sind die ja jetzt scheinbar recht fix....

    The 2xCD/4xLP set includes 31 songs featuring the original album remastered, and remixed/remastered versions of the band's 8-track demos. Additional songs included are: the album out-take 'Lee #2' (previously unheard with vocals); rehearsal out-takes 'Tuff Boyz' and 'Isaac'; 'Can Song' (a never-before-heard demo of 'The Bedroom'); plus Beach Boys cover 'I Know There's an Answer'; 'Dr. Benway's House'- the band's contribution to William Burroughs' 'Dead City Radio' LP; the b-sides 'The Bedroom' and 'That's All I Know Right Now' (a cover of the Richard Hell/Tom Verlaine pre-Television group Neon Boys); and the promotion-only Goo Interview Flexidisk. A 24 page full-color booklet (16 pages in the LP edition) is included with an interview-essay by Byron Coley, an essay by Mark Kates, and never before seen photos".

    ich werd mir die vinyl box gönnen früher oder später....die bonus tracks lohnen sich meiner meinung ja mal wieder
